The Australian Parliament has just passed the Online Safety Bill.
This new legislation will ensure the laws that exist in real life will now exist online. It will help keep our children safer as well as every Australian adult.
It will help hold perpetrators to account, remove their anonymity without remove our rights to privacy and create genuine real life deterrents.
It will NOT infringe on free speech in any way, shape or form – the threshold for abuse/threats/harmful content is aligned to the criminal code.
